About Us

The Laundry Stop is a free mobile laundry service for those in need. We serve those experiencing homelessness and anyone in need. We are based in Nashville, TN but have served in disaster relief areas.

Our story began shortly after we discovered the immense lack of laundry facilities available to those without housing. A resource that many of us have taken for granted is in fact very hard to find for our friends on the streets. The few laundry facilities provided to the unhoused community come with stipulations, limits, and often time distance.

The Laundry Stop has begun to bridge this gap and we are only getting started! Our mission is to provide an excellent service and loving experience in order to help restore dignity and encourage our friends to take the next step towards stability and housing.

In 2024, we made the exciting decision to move all of our operations under another nonprofit organization called ShowerUp. ShowerUp has been an outreach partner of ours from the very beginning! They also started in Nashville, but have expanded mobile shower outreach to the unhoused community to other cities including Chicago, Wichita, Tampa Bay, Huntsville, Chattanooga, and Memphis. By coming under ShowerUp, we will be able to further fulfill our mission and see more lives impacted than ever before!
